Documents show the Gastonia Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing on Thursday on a rezoning request led by D.R. Horton Inc. for a 103.8-acre site. That site, which is off East Hudson Boulevard, is being targeted for a massive residential project with nearly 700 residential units of several types, records show.
City documents state the proposed project would have up to 348 apartments, 207 single-family detached homes and 133 attached townhouses. The project would also include two commercial outparcels.
