Dog survives being thrown from car

CHESTERFIELD, SC — After enduring outrageous abuse, it’s amazing a small dog is alive after someone wired its mouth shut and bound its legs together before tossing it from a car in Chesterfield County.

Chesterfield County Animal Services posted the story to its Facebook page after the discovery along a dirt road Wednesday night.

I am personally (Rebecca) offering a reward for the conviction of the twisted human(s) that wired this dogs mouth shut...

The dog is now at vet in Hartsville with a broken jaw, but seems otherwise okay. Animal Services is investigating and hearing plenty of outrage.

Employees at the vet’s office have named him Handsome Henry in the hopes that when he’s cleaned up he will be.

“His coat’s terribly matted, tons of fleas and ticks when he arrived, just kind of typical neglect,” explained veterinarian Nicky Taylor.

Taylor said Henry is 2-3 years old. He was very scared when we came in with our camera.

Animal Services said Henry was thrown from a car along W.L. Johnson Road. Someone behind saw it happen and stopped. When they realized it was a dog, they called 911.

Anyone with tips on who did it is asked to contact Chesterfield County Animal Control.

Once Henry has recovered from his injuries, he’ll go to the SPCA in Charlotte where the hope is to find him a new home.
