FOLLY BEACH, S.C. — A rescue group in South Carolina is hoping to find a home for a dog found abandoned in Folly Beach.
The dog's owner abandoned him in Folly Beach, tied him to a sign, and left him with a note.
The note read, "My owners could not keep me. I'm very friendly. I don't bite and I just need a home."
A woman found the dog with no water and no shade. She said she immediately contacted a nearby animal shelter.
"Obviously, they wanted somebody to see him," Tayna Niketas said. "They knew somebody would see him. But, they left him with nothing."
The veterinarian said the dog is happy and healthy, but it could have been a lot worse if he was stuck in the heat for much longer.
