CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Roughly 90 Mecklenburg Medical Group physicians said they are finalizing a plan to leave Atrium Health to start their own practice.

Those physicians filed a lawsuit earlier this year seeking to form an independent practice called Tryon Medical Group.
The doctors plan to leave Atrium Health at the end of August.
The doctors still need to find offices, work on insurance contracts and hire new employees, our partners at the Charlotte Business Journal learned.
