The York County Sheriff’s Office dive team was looking for the swimmer through early Monday afternoon, according to the deputies. The body of Cooper Graham Lane, 20, of Catawba, was recovered just after noon Monday.
“It’s not the outcome we were hoping for,” they said in a tweet.
“Our condolences go to family and friends during this difficult time,” they added.
Deputies were helping the Leslie Volunteer Fire Department with the search since about 6 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff said.
