CONCORD, N.C. — A suspect has been arrested after a dispute over a parking spot led to a deadly hit-and-run Thursday night in a Walmart parking lot in Concord, police said.
CPD said it responded around 6:20 p.m. to the Walmart on Thunder Road Northwest off Derita Road for reports of a hit-and-run crash where someone was hurt.
Leon Phillip Fortner, 55, of Charlotte, was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, police said.

Police said Fortner got out of his car in the parking lot to confront the driver of another vehicle about a parking spot.
That’s when police say the driver of the second car -- identified by police early Friday morning as Anthony Scott Amey of Charlotte -- allegedly hit the man and drove away.
Investigators were able to quickly get a description of the suspect vehicle and the driver and found the man at his home in north Charlotte, police said.
Amey was arrested and charge with felony hit and run. He received a $50,000 secured bond and is expected in court on Friday.
