CHARLOTTE — Dilworth earned the top spot in Niche.com’s ranking this year of the best places to live in the Charlotte area.
Following Dilworth on the ranking and review site’s list were, respectively, Davidson, a suburb north of Charlotte; uptown, an area encompassing Second and Third wards and part of South End; Cherry, a Charlotte neighborhood that jumped 21 spots from last year; and Tega Cay, another suburb that moved up seven spots.

While Dilworth took first place among Charlotte locales, it ranked as the third-best place to live in North Carolina. Two Raleigh suburbs — Cary and Morrisville — ranked ahead of Dilworth at No. 1 and No. 2 in the state, respectively.
