CHARLOTTE — Crosland Southeast is targeting a northwest Charlotte site for development of an affordable housing community.
Crosland filed a petition with the city of Charlotte on Dec. 23 to rezone 2.6 acres at 10120 Couloak Drive for the project. If approved, the site will go from community center to community activity center to allow for up to 80 multifamily units. Seventy percent of the units will be priced for residents earning up to 80% of the area median income for at least 20 years.
The developer is targeting land near Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, less than 5 miles from the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The site is owned by State Employees Credit Union, according to Mecklenburg County property records. An SECU branch is also located there.
