BESSEMER CITY, N.C. — After years of planning, a developer has finally announced plans to remake a historic mill building in downtown Bessemer City.

Boston-based WinnDevelopment revealed its plans this week for a $31 million redevelopment of the Osage Mill building. The 250,000-square-foot structure will be home to 139 workforce-housing apartments and 30,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Construction on the project is expected to begin in spring 2022.
