Developer details next phase of Fort Mill mixed-use project

FORT MILL, S.C. — Clear Springs Development Co. is finally beginning the next phase of another big project in Fort Mill.

Clear Springs broke ground in recent weeks on the second development phase at Springfield Town Center. The first phase of Springfield is anchored by a 53,000-square-foot Harris Teeter store, which opened in March 2015. Phase two will add another 120,000 square feet of commercial space and 51 single-family residential lots to the development.

Kerri Robusto, senior vice president at Clear Springs, said the time is right for a second phase because the developer can now focus entirely on Springfield. It has fully leased Kingsley Town Center in Fort Mill, which has been a primary focus for Clear Springs in recent years.
