CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It appears a suitor has been found for a large piece of city-owned industrial land near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

On Monday, Charlotte City Council will vote on whether to approve the sale of 117.2 acres to EastGroup Properties, a Mississippi-based developer that has been active in the Charlotte region.
EastGroup has agreed to pay just over $7 million for the property on Shopton Road, city documents show. The sale is also contingent upon approval from the Federal Aviation Administration.
