CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Road crews will temporarily close access from Interstate 85 to the Interstate 485 inner loop (Exit 48) at 9 p.m. Tuesday weather permitting, said officials with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Drivers on I-85 will need to exit to the outer loop, continuing to the Mallard Creek Road Exit, where they can get back on the inner loop. Two travel lanes will be open on I-485, with work wrapping up by 6 a.m. Wednesday.
The closure is part of a resurfacing contract on I-485 between I-85 and Rocky River Road.
