CHARLOTTE — Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a homicide Monday night at an apartment complex in northeast Charlotte.
Video from a Channel 9 viewer shows CMPD officers searching the parking lot at the Century University City Apartments on Dave McKinney Avenue around 10 p.m.
Overnight, CMPD said they found a man shot in the parking lot. MEDIC pronounced him dead at the scene.
MEDIC confirmed to Channel 9 that he was the only person shot.
This is the fourth homicide in 24 hours in Charlotte.
Police have not said what led to the violence or if anyone is in custody.
