CHARLOTTE — A second man has been arrested in a deadly west Charlotte shooting that happened in May, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Officers said they responded, along with MEDIC, around 5:30 p.m. on May 12 to Avalon Avenue near Tuckaseegee Road for an assault with a deadly weapon call.
Daquarius Malik Jackson, 26, was found shot, police said. MEDIC said he died at the scene.
On Friday, detectives said they arrested Antonio Tomkins, 31, and charged him with murder.
In August, detectives said they had arrested 29-year-old Johnny Justin Williams in the case.
Both suspects were charged with first degree murder, conspiring to commit murder and shooting into occupied property inflicting serious bodily injury. Williams was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
