INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — The Union County Sheriff's Office said a man and a woman accused of shocking a Walmart greeter in Indian Trail with a stun gun are in custody.
Authorities arrested John Davis, Jr. Tuesday. His alleged accomplice Natasha Hall was taken into custody Thursday.
Surveillance pictures showed man and a woman walking out of the store on Younts Road with a 50-inch TV when the 65-year-old greeter noticed a security sticker on the box and asked for a receipt, officials said.
Deputies said Davis, 42, pulled out a stun gun, shocked the employee and then ran to the parking lot, where both he and Hall, 38, drove off in a green Nissan Pathfinder.
The employee was OK and did not need to go to the hospital.
Investigators used security video and the vehicle's license plate number to identify the attackers.
Authorities have not said where they arrested Davis.
Deputies told Channel 9 that this isn't the first time Davis has tried to commit this type of crime. In July 2015, authorities said he and a different woman walked out of the Lowe's in Indian Trail carrying a cordless drill.
When confronted by a store employee, deputies said Davis pulled out a knife and threatened them. Davis and his accomplice were arrested a short time later in that case.
