BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators may be close to an arrest in the unsolved murder of a Burke County woman nicknamed "The Egg Lady,” who was found beaten to death in her home.
The Sheriff's Office told Channel 9 that family members found 63-year-old Robin Teague dead around 7:30 p.m. on June 17 inside her home, on Old NC 10 and Highway 70, near Icard in Burke County.

Burke County Sheriff Steve Whisenant said Teague was killed by blunt force trauma to the head.

Deputies from Burke and Caldwell counties, along with the State Bureau of Investigation, spent more than four hours at the home, along Mountain View Circle in Caldwell County, where they removed bags of evidence.
Deputies said the pickup truck at the home was found a short distance from Teague’s home.
Three hours before Teague was found, Clyde Price, who owns a Poppy’s Carp Lake nearby, heard fighting from Teague’s home.
"We heard a racket up there and it lasted 12-15 minutes,” Price said. “That was around 3 o'clock. Then, after everybody left here, around 7:30, we heard another racket; everybody hollering."
Teague was known in eastern Burke County for selling chicken and duck eggs at her home, along Highway 70.
Neighbor Marie Gantt, a 93-year-old, said Teague cut her yard and brought her presents.
"She was a good woman and super sweet,” Gantt said. “She was always bringing me something, and I just loved her."
"We've gotten so scared around here that we've actually decided to move,” neighbor Brittany Hoskins said. “We've already started packing our stuff."
