LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Lancaster County deputies are asking the public for help identifying a boy who stole a gun.
Photos showed the boy in a striped shirt and he did not look more than 8 years old who was possibly with a woman.
Deputies said he took a pistol from Lancaster Pawn and Jewelry on Tuesday.
“You think about who are the parents? How was the child raised?” said Jasmyne McLaughlin, a concerned parent. “Was the child raised right? Apparently not if he's going to steal a gun from a pawn shop. Then my second reaction is, ‘Who is he going to use the gun on? What is he going to do with the gun?’ That scares me.”
The owner of the pawn shop did not comment.
If you can identify the boy or the woman he is with, call 803-313-2146.
UPDATE: Police told Channel 9 Thursday morning that the boy has been found and the weapon was recovered.
