UNION COUNTY, N.C. — The wife of a man shot and killed earlier this week at their Union County home has been charged in his death, the Union County Sheriff's Office said.
Kimberly Reps is facing a first-degree murder charge. She is being held without bond.
Crime scene tape roped off a home in a quiet Union County neighborhood for nearly 10 hours Tuesday.
Lisa Kammerdiner has lived in the neighborhood south of Indian Trail for eight years, and said she has never seen anything like she did Tuesday.
“I'm just shocked that it would happen here because it's quiet. It's quiet here all the time,” Kammerdiner told Channel 9.

Neighbors watched as crime scene investigators brought bags of evidence out of a home on Parkstone Drive after being inside for hours.
A woman called 911 from the home just before 5 a.m., saying she and her husband had been shot. No one else was home at the time.
The man, Robert Reps, died.
Officials said it appears Kimberly Reps shot her husband before suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“There are a lot of questions we need to answer,” Union County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Underwood said Tuesday.
Eyewitness News anchor Liz Foster checked, and there have been six 911 calls from the home just in the last year-and-a-half.
