The student was charged with carrying a weapon on school grounds and a minor in possession of a firearm.
The school was on a hold protocol following the incident.
The name of the suspect was not released due to their age.
They were taken to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice where they will remain pending a hearing before a family court judge.
