IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies in Iredell County made a massive drug bust Wednesday when they found 66 pounds of what they call “high grade” marijuana during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 77.

The deputies spoke with the driver of the SUV they pulled over, Victor Curtis Morrison Jr., 24, of Los Angeles, about his traffic violation. That was when they suspected more criminal activity and called over a K9 to help.

The K9 found the 66 pounds of marijuana hidden in vacuum-sealed bags inside a large duffle bag that was in the back of the SUV. Deputies said the drugs have an estimated street value of $299,680.

Morrison is charged with multiple felonies, including trafficking. He is in the Iredell County jail on a bond of $500,000.
