MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies in McDowell County are looking for the person who tampered with equipment at the Armstrong Fish Hatchery, killing approximately 150,000 fish.
Channel 9's partners at the Morganton News Herald reported someone turned off a valve at the hatchery late Saturday afternoon, depriving the fish of fresh water.
The sheriff's office said the crime is a felony and believe the suspect is someone with a grudge against the Wildlife Resources Commission.
If you have any information, you are asked to call police.
