Denver church holds drive-in worship service due to coronavirus

DENVER, N.C. — Churches are finding creative ways to have worship services during the coronavirus crisis.

Denver Baptist Church hosted a drive-in service Sunday. Hundreds of people drove in to hear an uplifting word.

The pastor said the church used sound equipment and an FM transmitter so people could listen on their radios.

The church even used a scissor lift so people could see the pastor as he preached.

“Our people are very excited. They were happy to be out. They were happy to see one another,” said Chris Griggs, lead pastor.

The pastor said he hopes the church will be able to continue having services like this until people are allowed back inside churches.
