UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Surveillance cameras captured the latest in a string of crashes on a dangerous road in Union County about 10 miles north of Monroe.
Authorities say a 2-year-old was inside one of the vehicles, and residents that live near the intersection worry that someone will die if the state doesn’t move quickly to make changes.
Nobody was seriously hurt in Saturday’s wreck.

NCDOT officials say they are aware of resident concerns about the intersection of Lawyers Road and New Salem Road and have recorded 12 crashes there between 2012 and 2017. Neighbors say there have been several more since then, though fortunately none have proved deadly.
