CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has charged a second suspect in the April murder of a man at an east Charlotte apartment complex.
Police said 18-year-old Zion Kirkpatrick has been charged for his involvement in the shooting death of 22-year-old Hinyse Bittle.

Collin Xavier Gallman, 17, is also facing charges in this case.
Officers were called around 8:20 a.m. April 15 for an assault call on The Plaza, and when they arrived they found Bittle shot to death inside a vehicle in the parking lot.
Channel 9 was the first local news station at Vista Villa apartments at The Plaza and Barrington Drive and could see shattered glass scattered across the parking lot.
Investigators could also be seen searching the tan SUV with damage to the driver's side window, where it appears a bullet may have passed through.
Gallman was arrested in September. He is charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
