CHARLOTTE — Detectives are conducting a death investigation after a woman was found dead Tuesday afternoon in west Charlotte.
Police said they responded shortly after 2 p.m. to reports of someone in need of medical attention on Brookhill Road off South Tryon Street.

When they got there, officers said they found a woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
As is standard procedure for any sudden or unexpected death, the CMPD’s Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation and Crime Scene Search responded to process the scene and collect physical evidence. CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services and MEDIC also assisted.
