Davidson College lands among top 50 US schools in annual Niche ranking

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Though the start of the 2020-21 academic year has been anything but normal in light of the pandemic, Niche is out with its annual rankings of the top U.S. colleges to help with students’ and parents’ decision-making process when choosing a school.

The Pittsburgh-based research and review site released its best colleges rankings earlier this month. It includes updated data and reviews on 4,150 colleges nationwide. The rankings include four-year public and private colleges as well as two-year higher-education institutions, such as community colleges and trade schools.

“With more and more families relying on online resources to navigate the college search process, we see a huge opportunity to help students find the school that’s right for them,” said Luke Skurman, CEO and founder of Niche.

Davidson College registers as the top-ranked school locally, and it ranks at No. 3 in North Carolina. The private liberal arts school in Davidson — about 20 miles north of Charlotte — lands high in the national ranking as well, placing at No. 47. It ranks as the third-best Christian college in America.
