MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Popular NASCAR personality Dale Earnhardt Jr. made a sizeable donation to FeedNC in honor of his mother Brenda Jackson, who died in 2019 following a battle with cancer.

The Dale Jr. Foundation partnered with Unilever to donate $300,000 to the Mooresville-based nonprofit organization that serves and distributes meals to veterans and families in need each week.

The Statesville Record and Landmark reports that part of the donation will be used to create “Mimi’s Garden,” which will be part of FeedNC’s new facility that is being built near Earnhardt’s JR Motorsports race shop and will include space for classrooms, an in-house event space and a café, as well as other amenities.
