GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Officials in Gaston County said that 600 new jobs are coming to the county. Daimler Trucks North America announced it's adding a third shift to its Mount Holly Freightliner location.
Channel 9's partners at The Gaston Gazette report that the company hopes to fill those positions over the next three months.
It is welcome news for the community after Daimler threatened to lay off workers from the Mount Holly plant in 2013.
Instead, the company laid off hundreds of workers from their plant in Rowan County.
