Crews put out fire at popular Monroe restaurant

MONROE, N.C. — Crews worked to put out a fire Friday morning at a popular Monroe restaurant.

Smoke could be seen billowing around 11 a.m. from Quincy’s Family Steakhouse along West Roosevelt Boulevard near Morgan Mill Road.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene, where we could see firefighters on the building’s roof.

Officials said no one was hurt.

Firefighters said the fire happened in the kitchen and extended through the exhaust center, attic and roof.

It’s unclear what led to the fire.

Authorities said there was substantial damage in the kitchen and that the restaurant was closed.
