CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A crash involving a tractor-trailer closed a portion of Interstate 85 for hours Monday morning.
The collision happened just after 7:30 a.m. on I-85 southbound near Statesville Road.

Authorities have not said what led up to the collision, but it did involve a tractor-trailer as well as several other vehicles.
When Channel 9 got to the crash scene, our crew could see the tractor-trailer had broken through the barrier wall between the southbound and northbound lanes.
It is not known if there were any injuries.

Officials said the interstate was reopened before noon.
