CONCORD, N.C. — In a partnership with the Cabarrus Health Alliance, StarMed Healthcare will open a new COVID-19 testing site in Concord.
The new site, originally slated to start operations on Jan. 17, was delayed due to the winter storm that passed through the Carolinas.
The site opens at noon on the zMAX Dragway at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Health leaders said it will offer both PCR and rapid tests.
“We are so appreciative of organizations who continue to recognize and help meet the need for testing in our community,” said Public Health Director Dr. Raynard Washington. “Thank you for keeping public health a priority.”
The Concord site was one of two announced by Mecklenburg County Public Health. The other site, in partnership with MAKO Medical, opened at Carowinds amusement park.

The federal government is also sending out COVID-19 tests to any American household that wants one. The plan, announced by the White House last week, will send some 500 million at-home COVID-19 test kits to Americans for free. Click here for more information.
