CHARLOTTE — As 2022 came to a close Saturday night, one happy couple decided to add to the celebrations with a wedding in Uptown Charlotte.
Charlotte native Janay Powell and her husband Marque Macon held their ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Saturday evening.
The two are working at a hospital in Memphis and work with a nonprofit. However, they wanted to come back to Charlotte for their special day.
The couple picked New Year’s Eve for their wedding day for a fresh start to the new year.
“Starting new starting fresh, new beginnings, a perfect way to start a new marriage. We will never forget our anniversary, fireworks all the time,” the couple said.
The happy couple will now spend two weeks to start the new year for their honeymoon.
