Corolla Wild Horse Fund announces birth of second foal of 2020

COROLLA, N.C. — The Corolla Wild Horse Fund announced the birth of the second foal of 2020 on its Facebook page Saturday.

The organization said the foal, named Alma, was born about a week ago.

“Welcome to the beach, Alma!” the organization said in the Facebook post.

It also said this is the first foal for her mom, Orlanda, and that they are both doing well. According to the post, Alma’s father, Rambler, is very attentive and she has a lot of aunts, as well.

The foal’s name, Alma, means “soul” in Spanish and translates to “lifts the spirit” in English, the organization said. The name also comes from Greek derivation, meaning “salt water.”
