RALEIGH — A restaurant property in Raleigh appears set to host a brand-new concept.
A former KFC location is being turned into a new concept from the owners of Cook Out, the popular fast-food chain based in North Carolina and known for its burgers, hot dogs, and milkshakes.

The building — located at 1221 New Bern Ave., next to a Cook Out restaurant — has been owned by Cook Out-New Bern Ave Inc., an entity registered to Cook Out CEO Jeremy Reaves, since 2021. The building is in the process of being renovated and now boasts signs reading “Roo’s Chicken.”
