Lane closures caused a traffic nightmare for drivers during morning rush hour last month.
The backups on Independence Boulevard started near Idlewild Road and stop-and-go traffic continued into uptown.

Construction crews stopped their work during the holidays.
They were scheduled to pick it back up earlier this week, but it was delayed due to rain.
Crews have shut down one lane on the ramp from inbound Independence Boulevard to the I-277 inner loop.
The road is down to one lane through the Third Street exit.
North Carolina Department of Transportation officials say crews plan to reinstall a barrier wall, which will provide a safe area for crews to continue concrete pavement repairs.
Lane closures are expected to last through next week.
The construction is part of a $16.3 million project to improve 22 bridges along the John Belk Freeway.
