Driver charged in Conover hit-and-run that left motorcyclist injured

CONOVER, N.C. — The Conover Police Department said Dalton Coffey, a driver who hit a motorcyclist and kept going, turned himself into police.

The incident occurred along Conover Boulevard West shortly before midnight on Saturday.

Family members told Channel 9 that the 21-year-old victim had surgery on Monday after the incident left him with a serious leg injury.

Coffey was charged Tuesday afternoon with felony hit-and-run.

Anyone with information regarding this hit-and-run is asked to call 911.
