The local firefighters were interviewed for the new documentary called "Defend the Heroes - Cancer in the Fire Service."
Cancer is one of the leading causes of firefighter deaths in the country.
In Fall 2017, Channel 9 shared Mary Tinsley's story after she lost her husband to cancer.
Tinsley's husband Seth worked for the Charlotte Fire Department and died of brain cancer in 2016.
Tinsley has been pushing for better protection for firefighters from toxins.
Earlier this month, President Trump signed a bill to create a "National Firefighter Cancer Registry."
