CONCORD, N.C. — Cott Corporation announced Thursday that it will buy Concord-based S&D Coffee Inc., which is one of the leading providers of coffee and tea products in America.
The stock agreement was purchased for $335 million and Cott will receive $3.9 million in revenue.
According to Cott, the stock agreement will improve the S&D Coffee products, channel diversification, reduce dependence on CSDs and create shelf stable juices and Big Box retail.
Cott made the announcement following the end of the second quarter, which was July 2.
"S&D is a growing business with over $550 million in estimated 2016 revenues," the company said in a press release.
S&D began in 1927 as a family business. In late 2012, S&D Coffee & Tea announced the renovation of its headquarters building on Highway 29 in Concord and the addition of property nearby.
The significant synergy is estimated at $12 million annually over the course of four years.
