CHARLOTTE — Dozens of community members rose awareness for breast cancer and took a stand against domestic violence and gun violence Saturday afternoon, while trying to remove a “stigma’ from the Hidden Valley Community.
The group used the “Hope 2 Heal” Walk to address all three of those issues. It started at the Parkwood Church.
It was second time the walk was held. The founder of the Hope 2 Heal Organization said she hopes to get rid a negative stigma behind the Hidden Valley community.
“Hidden Valley gets a negative stigmatism behind the community, and the name, but it is definitely a prestigious black neighborhood with beautiful people in it, beautiful families in it, and we just want to bring that love and peace back into the community,” Akya Canada said.
