College football games in Charlotte to include 3 free FanFests

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There will be plenty of festivities for college football fans in Charlotte this week for the Duke’s Mayo Classic.

The Charlotte Sports Foundation is hosting three free FanFests outside of Bank of America Stadium on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On Thursday, before the game between East Carolina and Appalachian State, FanFest will crank up at 4:30 p.m.

On Friday, there will be a free concert featuring Ingrid Andress, with festivities beginning at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, before Georgia and Clemson take the field, FanFest will open at 3 p.m.

FanFest will be held on Mint Street between Morehead Street and Stonewall Street. The main stage will be at the intersection of Mint, Stonewall and Graham Streets.

There will be food trucks along Mint Street.

Pets, outside food and drinks, and coolers are not permitted at FanFest.

In addition, ESPN’s “College GameDay” pregame show will air from Romare Bearden Park on Saturday.
