A 24-year-old female told police that she was walking home from work on the morning of Oct. 7, 2006, in the 7100 block of Tuckaseegee Road when someone walked up to her, threatened her with a deadly weapon and brought her into a wooded area. Frieda is accused of sexually assaulting her and taking her belongings.

The victim was treated at a nearby hospital and a sexual assault kit was administered.

Detectives identified Frieda as the suspect in this case and warrants were issued for his arrest.

A nationwide alert was issued, and a license plate reader tagged Frieda’s truck in Victoria, Texas.

Authorities pulled Frieda over and he was taken into custody.

Frieda was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree sexual offense and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He will be extradited to North Carolina.
