CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Several area school districts announced Thursday afternoon classes will be delayed or canceled Friday because of the possibility of dangerous road conditions.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools canceled classes for Friday due to inclement weather, officials tweeted Thursday night.
“To ensure the safety of all, CMS before- and after-school programs, athletic events and field trips are canceled. Community use of school events will continue as scheduled,” the tweet read.
CMS school-based staff and central employees “should report at 10 a.m. or use as an annual leave day,” officials said.
