CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Between June 8 and June 12, more than 8,000 students will graduate from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
The district said it is committed to providing secure, distraction-free graduations.
CMS is restricting what guests and graduates are allowed to bring into the graduation ceremonies.
Restricted items are:
Flowers
Duffle bags
Fanny packs
Backpacks
Gifts
Balloons
Air horn(s)
Noisemakers
According to the CMS website, the district, "Reserves the right to search all bags, including camera bags, as attendees enter the facility."
The district said guests attending the graduations will also be checked with a metal detector before being allowed inside the venue.
