CMPD warns of pickpockets at South End bar

CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is warning people going out to bars this holiday season: keep a close eye on your wallets and phones.

The department is investigating several phone thefts and reports of pickpockets this past weekend. According to police reports, it happened at the Gin Mill in South End on Saturday and Sunday night.

Three people reported having their phones stolen; two people said their phones were taken from their back pockets.

CMPD hasn’t said if any suspects were arrested.
