CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said a training recruit tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday.
Officials said there are 36 recruits in the class and 27 CMPD staff members who may have been exposed. They will all be tested for the virus and quarantined until they are cleared.
All classroom activity for the CMPD training class has been suspended until further notice and the facility will be disinfected, according to authorities.
The infected training recruit has also been quarantined.
