CHARLOTTE — Police said they have arrested two people after a man was shot to death near a Food Lion in east Charlotte Wednesday night.
Channel 9 crews could see a large police response at the scene of the Food Lion, near the Walmart on Albemarle Road.

The parking lot was roped off with crime scene tape and there were several evidence markers placed on the ground near shell casings.
Police said the shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. When officer got the parking lot the found 28-year-old De’Anthony Ellis, who had been shot. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
On Thursday, CMPD said they arrested 22-year-old Xavier East and 23-year-old Divine Miller.
Police said East and Miller showed up to the hospital after the shooting with minor gunshot wounds. After being treated by doctors, the two were interviewed by detectives and then charged with murder.
Channel 9 asked CMPD what may have led to the gunfire but police have not released any other details, only saying the shooting happened in the parking lot of the grocery store.
