CHARLOTTE — Someone walking in the Myers Park community noticed a suspicious item Thursday afternoon near the side of a road.
Officers were called to the 1500 block of Queens Road West in south Charlotte to discover what appeared to be a replica of a Claymore mine.

Authorities checked it out and quickly determined it was labeled a replica of the military explosive device.
CMPD tweeted it “would like to thank the attentive citizens who called in the device. An observant community is the best partner in preventing the next crime.”
