Channel 9 crews were with officers around 3:30 a.m. along I-85 near Brookshire Boulevard and could see one pit bull in the back seat of a CMPD cruiser.
Channel 9 then caught up with officers as Animal Control arrived at the police station. The dog, a 2-year-old male, was a little shy, but otherwise seemed to be in good shape.
Authorities will have to hold the dog at Animal Control for 72 hours before it can be adopted.
