CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A North Carolina family is praising two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers for saving a woman after she collapsed at the airport.
The CMPD posted a photo on its Facebook page with a message it received from a Wilmington woman.
She said her mother-in-law was heading back to Pittsburgh after spending the holidays with family in North Carolina and went into cardiac arrest while making a connection at Charlotte-Douglas airport.
Officers Milton and Marotta jumped into action, performing CPR until paramedics arrived.
The family said her two sons and daughters-in-law, four grandchildren and numerous extended the family's thanks to the officers.
"We now have more time with her that could have been lost," the Facebook post reads.
The woman has since had open heart surgery and is recovering.
