CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating after a man was shot while driving outside a north Charlotte nightclub early Friday morning.

Officials said the man was driving by Diamonds of Charlotte on Atando Avenue just before 5 a.m. when someone opened fire on his vehicle.
According to officials, the victim was hit in the hand and drove to the Shell gas station on Statesville Road for help.
He's expected to survive.
There's no word on suspects at this point.
